All Systems Broadband Kicks In for JDRF

Company focuses on helping to find a cure for diabetes.

Livermore, CA., August 17, 2011 -- Continuing a tradition established several years ago, All Systems Broadbandwill be participating in the "Summer Classic" to raise funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). The Friday event includes a day of golf on the Greg Norman-designed Wente Course, followed by the "Backswing Bash" an open-air evening of cocktails, auctions, dinner and dancing to tribute band Super Diamond. Last year, the event raised over $340,000 for the charity.

The company has a special connection to the event as its CEO, Jason Skeoch, along with three Chico State University classmates founded the event. It was their organization, Active Charity, that provided the original stimulus for the Summer Classic, and it has been their continued focus that has led to the raising of almost $1.5 million over the event's five years.

To understand the magnitude of the disease, one only need consider that a new case of diabetes is diagnosed every 30 seconds, with 1.9 million people newly diagnosed with the disease each year. The disease is one of the most costly in the U.S. accounting for more than $174 billion in health care costs. Further, diabetes accounts for roughly 1/3 of all Medicare expenditures.

The annual event has become a regular part of the operations at All Systems Broadband. In fact, last year one of the company's founders, Jon Fernandez, along with his wife Jan, were recognized by JDRF for their contributions over the years. All Systems Broadband regularly invites the involvement of its business partners, customers and others in the local and national business community to also participate in Summer Classic.

The counting of donations from last year's event had barely been completed before Jason's began hearing from businesses anxious to participate in this year's event. "It's amazing," he said, "even in this extremely challenging economy, people want to help in any way they can. With continued support like this, we will help JDRF reach its goal of finding a cure for this devastating disease."
